FAQs

What is the minimum JAMB (UTME) cut-off mark for Clifford University for the 2025/2026 session?

For the 2025/2026 academic session, Clifford University has indicated that the minimum admissible UTME (JAMB) score required for eligibility to apply is at least 130 – 150, depending on sources. For example:

One source states the university’s minimum cut-off mark is 130.

Another states a figure of 150.
Thus, candidates should aim for at least around 150 and preferably higher to be on the safe side.

Does Clifford University have departmental (course-specific) cut-off marks, and how do they work?

Yes, apart from the overall minimum UTME eligibility threshold, Clifford University applies course/department-specific cut-off marks. These marks vary by programme and depend on factors such as applicant performance, number of applicants, available space, and the competitiveness of the course. For example:

A listing shows for 2025/2026, courses like Computer Science and Cyber Security may require scores around 220, Nursing Science up to 250, and Law around 240.

The university’s official site also notes that the Senate reserves the right to determine the cumulative points/cut-off mark for Direct Entry applicants.
In practice: meeting the general UTME minimum makes you eligible for screening, but to maximise admission chances you should aim above the departmental cut-off for your specific course.

If I scored below the stated cut-off mark, can I still gain admission into Clifford University?

While meeting the cut-off marks improves chances significantly, admission is not strictly guaranteed by hitting just the threshold. Factors to consider:

You must select Clifford University as your first or second choice during your UTME registration.

You must meet other requirements: e.g., five credits in O-Level exams (WAEC/NECO), including English, Mathematics, and relevant subjects.

The school may consider your performance in the Post-UTME/screening exercise, your aggregate score, and other criteria beyond only JAMB.

If your score is significantly below the departmental cut-off, your chances will be lower, so it is advisable to aim well above the minimum.
Thus, scoring just the minimum may make you eligible to apply, but it does not guarantee admission; higher scores and good screening performance are important.
